(Changed names from "Sapphire Nursing and Rehabilitation", to "Sandstone of Tucson," likely an attempt to shirk responsibility for their dark history.) This is a disgusting facility with inhumane, cruel staff, most of whom are seriously lacking in basic integrity and morality. My father passed away at this facility, less than 48 hours after arriving, despite the conditions of his transfer to Sapphire being that his health was improving. Once deceased, we were not notified for over 4 hours. We were informed that my father was found unconscious on the floor, and we were never given any further information on how this could have happened or how long he remained there without help. Upon arriving the following day to collect his personal belongings, every item of value had been stolen from my father''s bag. We were handed garbage and contaminated items from other patients in place of his electric razor, iPad, charging cables, and other electronic items of value. The staff refused to rectify this issue and claimed that no manager was present in the building. Staff members Monica and Ana accosted my family a mere 24 hours after my father''s death, because, "they didn''t know anything". DO NOT make the mistake my family did by placing a beloved family member in the corrupt care of "Sapphire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center", now called "Sandstone of Tucson" at 2900 E. Milber St. Tucson. EDIT: In response to Sandstone''s extremely late reply to my review, I would like to make it clear that I have gone out of my way for a full year now, to try to contact them in regards to this issue. Calls to the facility have gone unreturned and unanswered for the entirety of this time, and they have blocked me from commenting on their Facebook as I continued to speak up about this unresolved incident on every disingenuous and dishonest ad they post. Sandstone never fully repaid us for the items stolen off of my deceased father. The previous patient liaison felt so poorly about this higher-up decision to only partially repay us that they paid the remaining amount out of their own pocket. This person quit due to ethical concerns shortly thereafter. As for Sandstone''s reply, the "sincere" condolences on a public platform while ignoring my calls and blocking my posts are just as phony as the image of your facility that you are attempting to present to unsuspecting people in need of help. Additional Edit: It''s also important to note that Sandstone employees are given incentives to post positive reviews about the facility online. I was given this information directly from a former employee. A few months ago, I was contacted on Facebook (where Sandstone has me blocked) by a member of Sandstone''s corporate team. This person insisted to me that the "new" ownership at Sandstone has "zero in common with old ownership", in an attempt to get me to stop speaking out about this incident. A quick google search revealed this to be a lie, as the CEO of Sandstone was formerly a regional director of market development for Sapphire. When I pointed this out, I was suddenly told the conversation "wasn''t serious" via Facebook messenger, despite being contacted by this person through facebook''s messaging platform first. Every reply and condolence they have offered has been completely disingenuous and nothing more than a callous attempt to save face. I have contacted the email provided in Sandstone''s most recent response to this review (as of writing, MONTHS ago.) I have received no response.

My mom has been here almost a month and I know zero. Very poor communication about your loved ones they are supposed to be caring for. (Update 05/18/22) NO ONE RETURNS YOUR CALLS!!!!!! You post on my review to call, I do, get told someone with call me back and don''t. I can''t get ANY info about my mom and your staff could care less! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE! (Update 08/29/22) DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!! They are horrible! My mother died on July 31st. She was found unresponsive in her room. She went to hospital and her blood pressure was extremely high. Her blood pressure was so high it caused a stroke which caused bleeding on her brain which resulted in her death. They obviously was not checking her vitals or giving her her medication. My mom is gone and I can''t bring her back hopefully anyone reading this will NOT send their loved ones here and can have more quality time them.

I worked in this place for almost two years. i was force to quit because Management were forcing me to work as CNA. Management insisted on keeping my pay at the driver wage, while working outside my job description. When i quit they didn''t payout any of my vacation or PTO time, that i had been accrued over the course of this year. HR told me that she is not going to pay anything because i quit. the hand book reads that when you quit you get 50% of you benefits. Worse place to work they find the way to rip you off.
