Toured many places and all were great, ended up with best fit location for our loved one.
This is a nice and clean community. I would recommend you stay active and be the advocate for your loved one's care, as the community doesn't provide or have an advocate for your loved one. This is a nice and clean community. I would recommend you stay active and be the advocate for your loved one's care, as the community doesn't provide or have an advocate for your loved one. The staff are great and quick to communicate with the family with answers to our questions or concerns. Transfers, medication management, hygiene, and bathing assistance are all types of care the community is able to provide my loved one. There are not really any activities for the memory care residents, and it is not on a consistent basis when offered. My loved one is bored since the activities are not consistent. There is a home cooked meal provided to the residents three times a day. My loved one seems to be happy with the food. Care, the apartment, utilities, laundry, housekeeping, and changing of linens are included in the monthly rate.

My mom moved into Avalon Memory Care - Lewisville about a month ago. The biggest part was the negotiation, the pricing, and the caretaker. It's a new facility, so there are some growing pains, but they're very caring, very doting, and most importantly my mother likes it there. She's not easy to please, but they know how to make the residents feel good. The folks are very caring and very loving. It's very bright and cheery. Everything was colorful and bright. It made my mother feel that she's not going into a nursing home. It's a place that she could live, like her own home. I like the layout. They have outdoors. They have a little vegetable garden out there. They have a place where they can get their hair done. It's not huge. I think there's only like seven residents there. They need to do more activities.
