My mom moved into The Virginian last year and it’s now totally remodeled and gorgeous. The staff is great - I was there over the weekend and when I arrived I was greeted by two people at the front desk who were very informed about the community. Security is very good. There’s a new bistro in the lobby area with a great menu. My mom raves about the food. I hear they have a new executive chef who comes from the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton. Very happy with our decision to have her move here.
Read moreI spent many hours here recently and was amazed how wonderful the staff treated the residents. Inside and outside the building was very clean. The residents I spoke with had only positive things to say. The food was amazing.

Atrium Village is wonderful! We moved my mom into the independent living area in 2022. She absolutely loved it. She could live at her own pace. She could choose to go to activities or stay in her apartment to read a book. She had to move to the assisted living area due to her needing more care. Still receiving the great attention and connection with the staff. That’s what makes Atrium Village so great. When my mom needed more care and attention, it’s almost like I did not have to move her. She kept her same friends and same community. They do such great activities. Last year they held a senior prom. My mom still talks about how much fun that was. I highly recommend. The new renovations are stunning. Great place!

I would not even rate this place with one star. My mother moved in on December 29, 2023 to the assisted living side of Atrium Village. We were very excited because she toured the facility in the summer and fall. HOWEVER, after moving in I completely and utterly lost faith in the nursing side. My mother, takes several medications and I provided the remainder of her medications to the nursing manager James McGarry and his staff upon her moving in. Mr. McGarry said it would be ordered once it started to run out. I do not know what protocols are in place but one of her very important medications ran out. In fact, on Thursday, January 11, the nurses attempted to call my mother''s physician for a refill, knowing there was only one or two days of medication left. They had the wrong number and instead of calling me to verify the number that day or the next day, they call me on Saturday morning asking me to get in touch with the physician. First, why do you not know prior than a day or two before medication runs out that it is running out. Also, that Friday, January 12 I was with my mother in her apartment and she said that one of the medicine aides said I was bringing medication. I did not understand and asked the nurse who had me speak to the medicine aide who told me that everything was there. Well, apparently it was not and no one said anything to me about her running out of medicine. When I got the call Saturday morning, (mind you its a three day holiday weekend) I asked what can I do with this information now. How can they run out and not know until a day or two before; what protocols are in place??!! I suggested that they get their doctor that is on staff to prescribe medication to get her through until we reached my mother''s doctor (Why am I making this suggestion???). all they kept saying was if my mother used their doctor they would not have this problem. My mother has no requirement to use the doctor they have on staff, but Atrium does have a duty to check medication and to make sure that it does not run out! Their doctor prescribed it to get her through a few more days and then my mother''s doctor was reached and a prescription was given. also, as this is ongoing, I realized that they are not providing my mother her inhaler medication that is prescribed as needed and ointment provided for twice daily. I gave them the ointment and the inhaler upon her entering Atrium, which the medicine aide told me was not on my mother''s list of medications so she had not been given those. I asked for a meeting to discuss protocols of medication. This does not end. On Sunday, January 21, my mother had diarrhea. They called me to tell me; not sure what I could do but thanked them for letting me know. It was suggested that I buy Immodium AD and bring it to Atrium. When i said it would take me at least 30-45 minutes to get there I was told that they had emergency Immodium they could use instead. Why was that not initially provided to her instead of calling me; asking me to bring it. It still does not end. Unfortunately there was a COVID outbreak at the Atrium assisted living side and my mother contracted COVID. She became ill and ultimately was taken to Northwest Hospital on January 20 and died on January 26. Devestating, but do you know that NO ONE FROM ATRIUM MANAGEMENT CALLED TO SEND CONDOLENCES. One nurse called two days after my mother was admitted to the hospital to check on her. I told her she was not doing well. On January 27 I called the Atrium nurses station and told the nurse that my mother died the day before. NO ONE CALLED FROM ATRIUM TO SEND CONDOLENCES. I was at her apartment with my son a few days later after her death and none of the aides knew she passed, either. What kind of s---t show is the assisted living side. I sent an email expressing my dissapointment and disgust that no one recognized her passing. the email i received back from James McGarry read "my condolences to you and your family regarding the loss of your mother" Too little too late!
Read moreMy Mother lives here and their dining room is never peaceful experience, I witnessed the dining staff being treated poorly, I think the executive director name is Pattie, she is very rude especially to guest. That is not a good look on this buildings behalf. Get better management!”
