We toured Atria Park of San Mateo during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility was clean! It was remodeled and had fresh décor. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They had a nice library and nice community spaces. The one bedroom apartment was roomy.

Because of unforeseen circumstances, we haven't got my father into Atria yet, but they've been absolutely fantastic in terms of their support. I would recommend them highly to others. I give their service in their facility an 11, they've been the only place that actually helped us out and the reason dad couldn't get there is because he has an injury that has been taking a long time to heal so he's been at acute care. However, they've been nothing but wonderful and I highly recommend them and am still hoping that we can get dad in there. We have a reservation. These people are awesome and we may never get there, but I would recommend it.

I had my dad here as it was affordable and they had a Dementia wing, so I figured that as he progressed he could move from his apartment to that wing. He escaped TWICE- just walked out the front door and got lost. At one point, I got a call EVERY NIGHT around 1a from the Sheriff because they wanted to say that my dad was assaulting other residents. He was non-verbal, so he couldn't say excuse me and would instead move someone from his path. You'd think people experienced would know this. They also stole a bunch of his furniture and stuff. Finally, I decided to bite the bullet and move him to Silverado and just pay the higher amount. No outdoors time, no patience for Dementia, and really? Calling the cops on someone you're supposed to be caring for is ridiculous. I should've called the cops! DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!!!! You get what you pay for, and they will not take good care of them. I still remember leaving every day in tears, having to leave him there when he lived there.
Read moreI had a great tour experience with Atria Park of San Mateo. The layout of the facility is very thoughtful and beautiful. It was a bit larger and too overwhelming and confusing for her in her stage of dementia. We were looking for a place that was smaller and easier to navigate.
