Rooms are small. Each year is a large increase that they blame on COVID. Parent has been there since 2021 and started at $4K and it is now up to $6K. That's increasing faster than inflation and rents. I have had the displeasure of eating food there, do not recommend. When they lock down they feed them sandwiches and drop other services. They have a lot of activities, but don't really do much as far as getting the residents to interact and move. I would suggest looking for cheaper alternatives as it was great at first but has increased greatly in fees and has gone downhill at the same time.

We went to Atria Aquidneck Place twice. We met with Cassandra and she helped with subsequent conversations with my mother. She was really helpful, very calm, and professional talking with my mother. My mom very much liked the setting of the place because it was surrounded by trees everywhere and it was extremely peaceful. No one seemed to be in a hurry to do things. She found it very calming. The people seemed genuine in their dealing with her and answering her questions. I found the rooms to be very inviting. The colors that were chosen were pleasantly neutral. Everything felt brand new and comfortable. The layout of the room seemed to be very easy to move around in. Everything was wide open and accessible. Particularly, the bathroom was nice, bright, and open. The kitchen was just right for someone who doesn't cook much anymore. Everything was easily accessible. Nothing was confusing. Everywhere we went was nice, bright, and well-lit. There was natural lighting everywhere.

I can wholeheartedly give Atria Aquidneck Place a 5 on each category..... We were blown away by them!!! They truly deliver! What we recognized prior to Mom moving in was a sense of family. We were somewhat jaded at that point and wondered if it was just another dog and pony show. After moving her in and getting her settled, we now know that the Atria staff, from the Executive Director to the maintenance person, are all in. Meaning each and every staff member is part of Moms new extended family. A sense of joy is present.

I had an excellent tour at Atria Aquidneck Place. Everything was clean and fresh. The grounds were immaculate. They were doing a little bit of refurbishing and it was just lovely. Every staff member I met knew the name of every single individual in the facility. We'd stop and talk to them. The gentleman that conducted my tour talked to practically every single person that he saw. It wasn't just to say hello. He had something personal to tell them. In some cases, he would even help the person to get to where they were going. He was very friendly. The apartments were nice. They're very, very small, but all assisted living apartments are. The kitchen was above average. They were being repainted, etc., so it's hard to tell what they would be when they were done, but they had put in new counters.

My 94 year old mother was in the assisted living side of the Portsmouth Atria center for about 4 years. She was moved over to the memory unit about a year ago. The memory care unit gave her more personal care and has improved her quality of life. They make sure that she eats regularly and healthy. They have been able to get her to engage more with the community and participate in the community activities. We are very pleased with their help
