I am writing this review today because it is too late for my loved one but I hope I can help others to make an informed decision as to putting their loved one in Aspire Oshkosh. First, Aspire will tell you what services your loved one will receive included or for an additional cost based on a nursing assessment. My loved one paid a certain base fee and then an extra $500 for cleaning, getting help with dressing, bathing etc. RARELY received these extra services. Checks every two hours NEVER happen. I visited my loved one daily and many days my loved one was still in the same clothes she had been in all week. No one ever changed her, bathed her, or on many days she never received any trays of food. I wondered many times if she even received her daily medications. My loved one needed assistance for all cares. My loved one was supposed to (according to her care plan) get a shower at least once a week. It never happened and she developed UTI''s frequently that ended up a hospital stay. Her apartment was filthy. She was supposed to have cleaning services once a week. That never happened. I noticed stains from spills on her kitchen floor, whipped cream on her fridge door that was spilled on Thanksgiving and never cleaned until I mentioned it to the nurse manager at Christmas. I found her apartment filled with gnats because according to the aide, a "housekeeper dropped some garbage down the hall". They had to spray our loved one''s room for gnats. They were so bad that I had to complain several times. I was concerned about my loved one''s health. There were days that no one took out her garbage and it was disgusting. The toilet never got cleaned and I did her laundry most of the time because they never changed or cleaned her bed sheets for months, crumbs in her bed. Aides told me that their cleaning people keep quitting I also found out that they are hiring agencies to help out because they don''t have enough help. On the weekends they have 1-2 aides for the whole building. Our loved one fell several times because there was no help for my loved one. 911 was called for my love done several times in three months for falls or neglect that could have been prevented. When we were at the ER at Mercy in Oshkosh with our loved one, the nurses told us they get A LOT of people in the ER from ASPIRE. They will lie to you to get you to sign a contract and get your money and they DO NOT provide the services for your loved ones. The icing on the cake was when the nurse manager was pushing hospice on all the residents and telling the families that because they are short of help this would be extra services that Medicare pays for. They would come in and read and help our loved one on top of their services. Aspire gets kickbacks for signing on residents to hospice services. My loved one was not ready for any hospice for the end of life, but we were told it "doesn''t have to be for the end of life". We told them that we DID NOT want our loved one on any drugs that would sedate her because she had no reason for end of life care. She was healthy just elderly. The very first thing the Hospice care did was order morphine and lorazepam to be given every hour. We told the staff we DID NOT want that to be given without family''s consent and she was not at the end of life. Behind our back we found that ASPIRE likes to use sedating drugs from hospice to sedate their residents because they are short of help. We found out that they had been drugging our loved one for over a week as we saw her go downhill. I have a medical background myself, so I started asking questions as to why she seemed sedated 24/7 and she stopped eating and drinking. I found out that they had been indeed drugging my loved one with sedative drugs and that aides were allowed to choose when and how often they could give the meds. I found after talking with other families at Aspire that many residents were on hospice. We had ONE good aide there that we could trust and she told us she was going to be quitting because she couldn''t provide the care she wanted for her residents.

After a walk through and learning of the 4k monthly rent which included 1 meal a day no access to visitors of "amenities" small swimming "pool" we left. We also inquired if a care giver had an additional monthly cost. Sure enough in a 2 bedroom apartment at 4k the additional cost of 350 was required. Mind you the renter gets nothing extra you pay utilities and cable. There is no transportation or activities planned but they consider it an all encompassing facility. You pay extra for use of. Who the hell in oshkosh can afford 50k in living expenses plus bills and meals? Run don''t enquire not worth the price. Nursing home offers much more including health care, activities, meals, and shopping trips for 4k or less. Sure private quarters are not as lavish but come on Aspire Oshkosh is ridiculously priced.

As a CNA of over 20 years, pay was fantastic, but the Harrassment and physical harm that occurred with my few weeks into the job was insane. I was physically attacked by another Employee, and the Employer turned a blind eye. Then 2 weeks later I was getting harassing phone calls at my new job and texts from the Employees still there! Again blind eye turned. Incredible, horrible. I''ve already told 3 people not to apply here. They also had made my final choice to get out of Healthcare.
