Not enough parking and they won’t make anymore plus they rather lie to your face than admit that they were in the wrong or look into issues occurring on the inside and just put on a facade.

My parents have been living here for just about a year and things are really hit or miss. People and employees have been very nice and lots of fun activities available. Everything feels clean and kept nice. BUT it can be very difficult to get things taken care of with lots of calls and follow up. The food is fine but the services around the food are very lacking. It seems the kitchens are usually very slow. You can''t make a substitution without a lot of explaining or at all. It''s difficult to make reservations. You''re not allowed to pick up an order at several places yet they''ll charge you $7 to have it delivered and the delivery isn''t even everywhere, it''s just to certain buildings. My dad is on the second floor right next to an elevator right by a restaurant and if he doesn''t feel like going to dinner and he wants that food he has to pay $7 for them to bring it up when he would have gone down himself to pick it up. When you do make an order to be delivered you have to make it between 10am-2pm and it comes between 3:30 and 4pm and it''s cold and the order is messed up. This last time we called back to complain that the food was cold and the order wasn''t right then and hour and 20 minutes later they delivered the missing items and the food was still cold. This has happened several times. Parking for guests is atrocious!! It seems to get worse and worse over the months. They just keep building more and more residences but no more guest parking. Instead since last March I''ve noticed they''ve actually taken a few visitor spots away!! Ericson doesn''t seem to really think about the people they are tryting to service either. When moving my parents over we had a very difficult time finding a unit that didn''t have plush carpeting all over. My mom was in a wheelchair but not ready for assisted and these places aren''t really made for wheelchairs. It''s very difficult to wheel over plush carpeting. And now she''s walking with a walker so that''s a little better but her balance is really bad so the step to and off of the carpet in the bedrooms is dangerous. Showers have a sizable lip to step over with glass doors to manuver. The garage parking is pretty tight and my dad has scratched his car several times by walls and pillars. My dad just told me today that the Dr.s office on campus has a lot of walking to get to it. The parking was far away and the handicapped parking was blocked off. This is SENIOR living. A lot of seniors aren''t ready for assisted but are still slow, have a difficult time with walking, are slowing down and could really benefit of having more parking right up at the buildings and offices that are close to the entrance. I can''t tell you how many times in the last year I''ve thought "You''d think this is Ericson''s first independant living complex". They definitly don''t have things figured out yet. We haven''t delt with any moves into assisted or anything yet but they''ll be coming and I''m honestly a bit worried because it really does seem more and more like Ericson is really in it for the money! And I don''t want to get a reply back saying "I''m sorry for the inconvenience or bad experience blah, blah, blah" I want to see things change!!!!

Read the contract, and be prepared financially to not receive your refund for 5-6 months, less rent for an unused apartment. They will deduct the monthly service package, minus the non-occupancy credit, for up ninety days from the date keys have been turned in. Then you are put on a "refund list" for another 60 days. It is a beautiful place to live, but APL has added so many new neighborhoods parking for visitors or caregivers is very difficult, reservations are a must for diners and if you move out, they may not turn your apartment over for resale very quickly - keeping your very expensive deposit. Move in when your are mobile and able to enjoy all the amenities. It is difficult when health deteriorates. We would have moved to Maple Grove memory care (due to a stroke) but the wait list is 6-12 months.
Read moreWonderful for residents, but parking atrocious for family visitors. They. Need. More. Visitor. Parking. Even pickup is hard because we need to walk Mom to the car and if it’s parked a mile away it’s a non-starter. Stressful dice roll every time we go.
Allan and Riley Rock!! Great place for your loved ones
