Alto Wheaton was very nice based off of what we saw during our tour experience there. The room that was available looked out onto equipment (air conditioning, etc.) which I thought was not a nice view, but my mom probably would have liked it since it did not look out onto other apartments.

The facility is always neat, very clean and never smells. All of the staff are great people, very friendly and truly help and care about everyone that lives there. My mom likes living there and likes all the staff and says everyone there is great.

I think it's a hard transition, both for the person with dementia as well as their family members. It's very emotional and difficult and just takes time. You need to stay on top of things and communicate often with the staff when getting started. They've been open to phone calls and provide valuable guidance. The regular staff is fine, although we had an incident with a travel nurse that has not been followed up on as we requested. But all of the other nurses are fine. The facility is very nice and presentable, and it doesn't smell.

And I can't say enough about [name removed], the Executive Director. All the staff have made my loved ones very comfortable, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
