I walked through the Carolina Inn at Village Green. They showed me more of the assisted living, which is not what I'm looking for. The grounds were nice. The people were pretty nice. The rooms were decent. Some of the rooms were shared, but a lot of them were not. The facility was very clean. The staff was nice and knowledgeable. They showed me the grounds and what they do daily as far as activities and things like that. They showed me the library room and game room. They bring most of the residents together, which is what I am looking for.

My father is at Carolina Inn at Village Green. I rate it very, very good. He seems to be very happy. They have plenty of help for the residents. They have all kinds of activities for the residents. It's really a wonderful place to live. I have tried their food and it was good. The common areas are wonderful. They have music shows, magic shows, and comedians that come in. They have bingo during the week. They always have something special for every holiday. They have a lot of activities. They have wine tasting once a month. He is in a single room. It's big enough for his bed, a dresser, a computer desk, a couple of chairs, his recliner, and another chair. They're very clean. He seems very satisfied with his room. The staff is extremely helpful and extremely nice. They were very good to work with when we were getting my father registered and getting him into the facility. His floor has like eight rooms on it, and they have a nurse assigned just to that floor. There's plenty of staff. Also for assisted living, their food is very good. It's not five-star cuisine, but it's very good. They go around the room every day and personally ask off the menu and fill out the menu for everybody in the complex for the next day. The community is beautiful. It has a beautiful outdoor area, a beautiful covered patio, and open areas. There are two or three small what we call family rooms that have couches where you could go in and visit. They have two or three activities every week now. My father doesn't participate in a lot of them just because it's not his thing. They have the schedules posted in the elevator, and so I see all the things that they're having. It's a little bit more expensive than where he was, but it sure is nicer.

The upkeep was very nice though. They have a game room, cafeterias/eating areas (on two floors), a recreational park, and vending machines. For their activities, they do arts and crafts, bingo, and trips where they take them out to different places (like a shopping day). They also have a very nice outdoor patio. It's huge and they got plenty of seating areas. They have a walk-around area, if you want to go walking outside, with plants and overhead fans to keep them cool in there. It was very, very peaceful.

It was also pretty noisy and because of what my loved one has been through we thought that may agitate him.
