Be careful moving your family member to this facility. My Mom had been a resident for over a year and because she needed extra care they gave her a 30 day notice. She is 94. The elderly deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. They have their “reasons” for not being able to provide her the care she needs. Basically, “covering” their decision. Things were said from staff that, got back to us from other care facilities that assessed her care. Inaccurate things were said and a few of the women have attitudes. It is noticed by others. Not professional. Two new facilities said what they were suggesting for her care are unnecessary and inappropriate. Again, “covering” themselves for giving her notice. It is really disappointing that, because she became a burden to some staff they no longer had the time, TLC, or compassion to care for her. They are a “no lift” facility, however, patience, kindness and care to accommodate her go a long way. Pathetic. Plus, a lot of money was invested at this facility throughout the past year. Accommodations are made for some residents and not others. We truly thought she was valued more than how she was treated. Her friends will miss her…

Last year their sprinkler system broke and flooded multiple units. Many were displaced for months with no communication or care from The Oaks. Currently the water has been shut off for days no communication or info to residents. Days with out toilets that flush, showers, or drinking water. Not a word from The Oaks. If you have a senior who you love please do not send the here this is a huge bait and switch scam and you will be sorely disappointed like we are!!

My Mother lives there, in independent living. When she moved in back in [date removed] the restaurant was fully staffed and the food was impressive, but then came Covid 19 and the ensuing staff shortages, reductions in the dining schedule and most importantly the quality of the food went so far downhill that to call it Chef prepared is quite the joke among the residents and this dining room has yet to recover. I ate with my mother last week and she was served a plate with a scoop of dry mashed potatoes, overcooked string beans, and salisbury steak with a gravy that was full of mysterious bubbles that reminded me of fermentation. It was Morrison's Cafeteria on a bad day. Perhaps Oaks will improve the situation in time, but after many months there is no indication of that. The menu may be Chef Prepared, but the food certainly is not. It's shameful that the new brochure is so untruthful about the food, and for nearly $[removed]/week to experience "Chef Prepared"! Good gravy, Oaks, you can do better.
