I like the location of Holiday Garden Village. They had a two-bedroom place on the second floor that somebody moved out and they were going to completely renovate that including the flooring. It was on the second floor, which I liked. The rooms that I saw were just outstanding. It looked like just the place that I wanted. The two bedrooms, the bathrooms, and the window placements in it fit my lifestyle. I could see myself putting my sewing machine in front of one of the windows and being able to have light come in through the windows. I could look out my windows and I could see the landscaping, and the trees and stuff. They have a lot of people there that play games, and that's really what I like. I want to be with people that's my age that's able to play games, not someone that has to work all the time. I need to be around people, and I like interacting with people, and I could see that I would have that there. Their menu looked great, too. I could go and eat with the other residents. I like that, but I also like that I would have a kitchen, so if I wanted to do something for myself, I could. Or if I wanted to entertain a card group or something, I could do that in my apartment and fix snacks for them. Those things are really important to me. With regards to the tour, I wasn't just somebody that walked through and was gone. The staff followed up with me, and so I was impressed with that. It's a little bit older than some places, but I saw some of the renovations, and they've done a really good job.

This place is horrible I would not take my dog there. Infested with bed bugs

My mom is in Holiday Garden Village. It is clean, affordable, and the staff members are all extremely kind. The amenities are topnotch. My mom is in a one-bedroom apartment. They have a variety of programs. So, for example, for the 4th of July they had a big celebration in the lobby with watermelon and cake and other festivities. I had breakfast with my mom one day and it was delicious. They serve three full meals a day for the residents. They have all of the utilities, plus TV and internet are included in the rent. They have provided some type of a safety device she could wear, and at the push of a button she could reach emergency personnel. Like everywhere else, they're short staffed, so it might take a little patience to get things accomplished, but things do eventually get accomplished. The breakfast I had was five out of five. Mom has had a couple of dinners that she just didn't care for, so she would probably rate the food three out of five.
