I went to Anthology of Midlothian. It's fairly new. I liked it. However, I didn't like that they have an elevator. The room that I looked at was on the second floor, and my mom would have to get on the elevator to come down to get to the first floor, so that was a little bit of a concern. Overall, it was very clean and very modern. The people I interacted with were very pleasant, so no complaints there. I like the fact that they had a theater room, which was a little different from the others. To me, it looked like they had more places for activities. They had a game room, too. They have more activities, too, so I like that. One of my concerns there was the parking. To me, it seemed to be limited. In terms of the grounds, it didn't have as much space as some of the others. Overall, I was very impressed with the facilities, and I was very impressed with the different activities, but I was not impressed with the fact that you have to get on the elevator.

It is clean. It has a lot of activities going on during the day and they have physical therapy. Everybody that we met there was very nice. They've got different rooms for different things, they've got a calendar every month of all the stuff that's going to be happening and we like that. I haven't eaten there but I went into the dining room when they were serving, and everything looked pretty and delicious to me. The staff was very informative and they took lots of time with us.

When you walk into Anthology it is like walking through a hotel lobby with big open spaces. We have nothing really to compare our experience with but we have no complaints so far. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend this community to other families. The value for the money is marginal, it is a little on the expensive side.

My daughter found this place & fell in love instantly. She went on a tour with [name removed] & called me on FaceTime to speak to [name removed] as well. My grandmother’s traumatic situation was explained in detail & she made it seem like it wouldn’t be an issue. Unfortunately, that was a lie. The paperwork was given to the hospital to complete & it was returned to them for review. The hospital said she’s “agitated”, so [name removed] called me to get further explanation about it. I gave a detailed explanation. They were supposed to do a virtual assessment [date removed] & they were a no show. They didn’t give notice that they changed their minds, so the hospital social worker got nasty with them. They decided that she wasn’t a good fit there. No explanation. After researching them after this happened and seeing that they allowed a dementia resident to wonder off, I guess we dodged a bullet. Check the complaints on this place with government entities. They are unprofessional & lack compassion.

My loved one did not have any issues transitioning and stated that everyone was great. They are still new and working out the kinks but overall everything is pretty good. They didn't have a activity director for some time but they are for sure working on it. She is always busy and they let the residents have some input into the activities also. They make you feel like it is independent living but it is assisted living. They have actual apartments and not just rooms that the residents are living in. This made the transition easier and they went out of their way to make sure that this worked for my loved one.
