Overall Transitions facilitates the moving of seniors from their homes to downsized living spaces. We utilize a custom technique to prepare a special outline of services for each family. Sometimes lifestyle transition can be rearranging or reorganizing or redecorating the current living space; and sometimes a move is required for a healthy transition to next phase of life. An individual’s routine habits and standards of living are the key elements to consider when change is required. Our team provides this service with the greatest sensitivity, while honoring the emotional reason for this behavior.
Since 1996, Overall Transitions has assisted not only seniors, but people of all age groups with special requirements to live in their own unique safe environment. Some of our clients have physical limitations – quadriplegia or blindness – and some have memory issues– Alzheimer's or dementia. Whatever the need, we do our best to be of assistance.
- space planning for the new home
- measuring each new room for usable wall space
- measuring each piece of furniture for exact fit
- sorting items in the current home to keep and move
- distribution of family treasures
- selecting items to be sold
- space planning for the new home
The next step is to select the best moving method and to carefully pack items to be moved.
- all boxes un-packed and removed
- window treatments in place
- art, pictures and mirrors cleaned and hung
- furniture - dust, polish – and in place
- clothes hung and arranged in the closets
Dottie Albright, the owner of Overall Transitions, is available for a consultation to begin planning the move of your "Home Sweet Home" to a comfortable, downsized living space or just to organize your clutter!
Clients and communities acknowledge Dottie as a neutral-party facilitator. "I listen to the person who is moving, or making a change in their current home, and learn which items are of emotional value. My role is to find a place to put that piece. By being a neutral, outside the family voice, I defuse family sensitivities concerning furniture and other items by emphasizing 'it is just stuff.' The heritage and memories are most important."
